West Coast Rock Lobster Fishing Season dates
West Coast Rock Lobster season is open every day of the week between 08:00 and 16:00 and which started on 15 November 2011, will close on 15 January 2012. The season will re-open from 6 to 9 April 2012 (Easter weekend)
* The bag limit is still 4 per permit-carrying person per day and the size restriction is 80mm carapace length with not more than 20 per vehicle/ vessel
* Any West Coast rock lobster caught, collected or transported shall be kept in a whole state
* Permits will only be issued to persons above the age of 12 years
* No person catching West Coast rock lobster with a recreational West Coast rock lobster permit may sell such rock lobster
* Any person who wants to catch West Coast rock lobster for their own consumption must be in possession of a recreational rock lobster permit, obtainable from the Post Office or from the Department’s Customer Services Centre at Foretrust Building on the Foreshore in Cape Town
